2014 EVENTS

December 2       Best Management Practices for New High Tunnel Growers - @ Civil Defense Ctr., 7220 State Route 52, Bath, NY  - Cost is $25 Program is targeted for commercial growers new to high tunnels But all who are interested in improving their crop yield, quality, & Profitability by using high tunnels are welcome.  Registration due by November 25.  Call Stephanie Mehlenbacher at 607-583-3240.

December 10-11     Calf & Heifer Congress 2014 – Birth to Breeding.  RIT Inn & Conference Ctr outside Rochester, NY located off Exit 46 of the NYS Thruway.  Cornell University Extension & Cornell Pro-Dairy Program, the conference will go beyond the management of the young calf this year.  Timeline will extend from caving event to breeding age.  To register online go to http://wwcvent.com/d/K4qctr/4W

December 17     8:30 am – 4:00 pm – Spotted Wing Drosophila Winter Regional Workshops. Ramada Inn, 1305 Buckley Rd., Syracuse, NY 13212.  Learn current SWC information, most recent research results & management practices.  Will focus on other topics of importance to berry growers.  Registration if $25 for NYSBGA Members and $50 for non-members.  Registration must be rec’d 7 days prior;

2015 EVENTS

January 23-25    NOFA-NY’s 3rd Annual Organic Farming & Gardening Conference – Saratoga
Springs Hilton: 534 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.  Theme will be “Soil The Root of the Movement” Speaker Wes Jackson, founder & president of the Land Institute will address issues of soil loss & degradation, ecosystem destruction, & high energy use associated with agriculture.  More info at www.nofany.org

February 19-21  Farmers Market Manager Training Conference, Ramada Inn in Liverpool.  Will focus
