**Grasstravaganza 2014: Pasture Soil Health Creates Wealth – Thursday to Saturday, July 17th to 19th – Morrisville State College, Morrisville - Speakers include Ray Archuleta, the NRCS “soil guy” from North Carolina, Jerry Brunetti of Agri-Dynamics, and Jim Gerrish, former University of Missouri researcher, writer, and now cattle rancher and consultant from Idaho.  A Thursday evening dinner will kick-off the conference, and tours will be held on both Friday and Saturday afternoons.  Sponsored by USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service, NY Grazing Coalition, and Morrisville State College.  Visit http://grasstravaganza.morrisville.edu for updates on the conference agenda and registration.

August 14 – Ornamental Grasses ($) – 6:30 pm - Broome County Cornell Cooperative Extension, 840 Upper Front St., Binghamton – learn about ornamental grasses & their use in landscaping.  Take tour of Ornamental grasses at Cutler Gardens (weather providing) - Contact Liz at (607) 584-5014

August 19 – 5th Annual Fresh Food Face Off ($) – 6 p.m. - Broome County Cornell Cooperative Extension, 840 Upper Front St., Binghamton – Come enjoy the beauty of Cutler Botanic Gardens.  Local chefs are challenged to create the “Best Taste” using local, in-season ingredients while being paired with NYS wines and beers.  Contact Carol at (607) 584-9955

August 21 – Sept. 1 – NYS Fair, Syracuse, NY

August 26 – Longwood Gardens Bus Trip ($), 6:30 a.m. – registration deadline August 8 – Join Master Gardeners on bus trip to Longwood Gardens DuPont Estate.  Bus leaves Cracker Barrel parking lot at 6:30 a.m. – Tickets can be purchased online by visiting http://cornell-cooperative-extension-of-broome-county.myshopify.com/products/longwood-gardens-bus-trip.  Or contact Carol at (607) 584 9955.
