ENVIROTHON INFORMATION – Chenango Forks "Nefarious Nematodes" won 1st place in the Broome County Envirothon held April 29, 2010 and will advance to the NYS Envirothon Competition to be held at Keuka College, June 2 & 3

Broome County 2010 Regional Envirothon Results:
1st Place: Chenango Forks Nefarious Nematodes
2nd Place: Chenango Forks Tenacious Trilobites
3rd Place: Windsor Woodpeckers

The Broome County Soil & Water Conservation District was formed on July 11, 1944 and provides information and technical assistance to municipalities & landowners.
Through partnerships the District promotes a cooperative approach to natural resource issues.
Among the Districts programs and services are: Water Quality and Conservation, Nonpoint Source Pollution Control, Erosion and Sediment Control, Drainage Assessments, Technical Assistance of Flooding Issues, Stormwater Management, Pond Assistance, Environmental Education & Planning, Nutrient Management, Grazing, Watershed Management, Agricultural Value Assessments, Hydroseeding, No-Till Drill Rental, Fish Stocking, and Tree & Shrub Seedling Program.
Special THANKS to Senator Libous for providing the Broome SWCD with funding to purchase our NEW GMC Work Truck. This truck will be used for flood related issues, hydroseeding, and assisting the agricultural community.
